The plug makes a tight connection. The wire connection to the plug is solderless but seems to make an equally tight connection. My bass improved with these connectors and did not diminish any soundstaging or speed.

Well made, strong and hold cables like should be. One of the best banana plugs ever bought.

Work well for my home theater

I’m rebuilding an existing home theater in a new home and rewiring the speakers. The previous speakers used were a mish-mash of different brands and not a matched system. I purchased used Klipsch Quintet speakers here on ebay and they are a great home theater speaker system for a small room (one room in my basement) and a low budget. The original home owner used cheap speaker wires so I decided to rewire the entire system with quality components. He left the screen, speakers, and projector but took the receiver so I bought a new Sony 5.2 home theater receiver and a 100 foot roll of high quality 14 gauge speaker wiring rated for in-wall use. Using bare wire for the binding posts on the speakers was fine with me since I didn’t plan on moving them once mounted and I ran that wire behind the walls instead of letting it hang from the speakers. I also purchased a 5.1 home theater wall plate and used bare wire connections on the wall side, again since I wasn’t planning to move them. For the room side of the wall plate I wanted to use banana plugs from the plate to the receiver so I could easily disconnect them. I plan to replace the carpet and do some additional upgrades to the system and basement, dictating frequent disconnects for the speaker wiring. I almost bought standard split-end banana plugs but these sawtooth plugs caught my attention. After using standard banana plugs before in my old house these are a better choice for me. The standard split-end plugs don’t always sit straight in the connectors, probably because of the smaller contact area. The first time I used these saw-tooth plugs I was sold. They fit much tighter into the receiver connections and there’s obviously more contact area. I don’t think this makes much difference in signal transfer but I really do like the way they fit, very snug. Other reviewers of this brand on the web have stated they aren’t made from pure copper but for my purposes and my system I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. For the price they’re a good deal and they work quite well for my setup. Attaching the wires is easy and very secure since there are two screws to hold the wire. They also look great too, nothing like the cheap plastic covered banana plugs I’ve used before. If I have a need for more banana plugs these are definitely my first choice, for the price and the quality.

Fits nice & tight in banana jacks!

  8. old361

Nice banana plugs for the price.

Best plugs I have. Very dtight in banana jjacks and holds well Only drawback is the tiny screws that hold the speaker wire in the jack. Solder would be easier. considering the size of the screws.
